Change is in the Air

Well this is it the summer that everything changes. I am excited and scared at the same time...I want to make sure my life is going down the right path.
I am going to be spending more time with friends and hoepefully making new friends. Who knows what is in store for me this summer.
As I right this I feel this sense of relief, but the butterflies in my stomach are threatening to take over. We shall see. To all of my friends out there I will fill you in on details as they come to me.
Much love to everyone and watch out a new Laura is about to be born.

Been Awhile aka. Ring the King

Well I know that I haven't posted on here for such a long time...but the creative juices are flowing again..so I am ready to start posting.
I just returned from a vaca in Indiana...it was awesome. It was so nice to see Gabe's family and friends. I esp. had fun with Steph (wow it had really been awhile!!!!)
The one thing that Gabe and I were really excited about was eating Pizza King. All my midwest friends, you know what I am talking about. The greatest pizza in the world. I am not joking...I swear. I haven't found a good pie out here in CO. So of course we had to go and eat a large royal feast w/bbq!! It was everything that I thought it could be and more.
Have you ever had intense memories when eating something?? Well that is what happened to me...it was like college all over again. I remembered how much fun I had when living in Indiana. I am telling you food can hold a lot of memories This is how much I love this pizza, we bought two larges on our way outta town to have for our drive back. Yeah, it's that bad!!
I did do other things in Muncie, besides eat Pizza. Steph and I went to Motinis and heard some good live music...we used to do this all the time in college. The music scene in Muncie really isn't that bad, or maybe it's just that I like the bars there better. I was also able to see my friends Daniel who I didn't even know was still in town...it was very nice to see him. Mostly it was just nice to relax and take it easy for a while. I will try not to let so much time go by before I visit again. Maybe the next time I am out there I will take more pictures.
Anyway this is what has been going on..I have been working a lot, and it was nice to get away. Gabe and I hardly take vacas together.
S0 hopefully I will be starting to post more..so check back more often.
Much love to all.

Travel Woes

So as most of you know I am going to be heading to Japan this year. That's right I am going to stop talking about it and actually do it. The only thing is that I didn't realize who long it would take to get my passport. With the new passport law going into effect I am looking at about a 2 month wait possibly more. This super sux. Oh well, I guess that I won't be going in the spring.
ANyway, it that is the only woe I have about this trip than that is pretty damn good. On another I am glad to hear that my friend Les will be joining me. She has re-confirmed with me and I am going to hold her to it.
If anyone out there knows someone who is currently living in Japan let me know. I would love to get a good feel for the area from a resident.

I know, I know

It has been quite some time since I last posted. I have been busy and haven't really had anything to post lately. Same as in the last post, there is snow (lots of snow).
I must say I am quite sick of snow.
I am ready for summer, hot weather, and pools.
But I guess I need to wait a little while for that all to happen.
I hope that everyone out there is having a great Sunday. I am currently watching the Colts get creamed by the Patriots....not a happy day at all. GO COLTS!!!!
Now that I have said that...there isn't much to say.
I have been trying to take it easy mostly which means that I haven't been doing much.
I am sure that I will have more to post as the creative juices start flowing a little more.

Autre foi.

Adieu.

Bon Soir.
Dormez-vous.

Next time.
My hand.
Farewell.
To the Lord.
Goodnight.
Sleep you all.

Oh my god...that is all I have to say. Winter is so not my fav season, but this is a little crazy. I know I haven't posted in a while. But I am just letting everyone out there know that I am still here and am very much alive.
I will leave you guys with a photo of my car buried in snow. I am going to out and make snow angels now. (Hey gotta make the best of the snow!)

Boy Did I need Coffee this Morning

Not only do I feel like I ate enough for 5 people, but I am also way groggy. I don't have to work thank goodness, but boy did I need that coffee. I hope that everyone out there enjoyed their turkey day...I ate tons of food and watched football all day...it was truly awesome :) So it is the day after and I am sure that I am not the only one suffering from the "turkey hang-over"
So since I am still a little on the sleepy side and kinda outta it, I will close this post with a poem.

Poim

Walking on water

Posing a Question

Who out there really feels it is about time that school buses have seatbelts??
The recent events in Alabama should really be sending a message. I have long thought that school buses are unsafe. When I have children I will be driving them to school myself. I know that this isn't possible for many families, but something needs to be done. Children are the future, we in this country should be taking every measure to insure their safety.
I am sorry, seeing those pictures of that school bus made me cry. I have never understood why in the hell there aren't seatbelts in buses. I want to know what everyone out there thinks.
Please leave your comment...perhaps if enough people raise their voices something will change. It is a small battle to fight, but it is still important.

The Big Day

Well here it is the big day! Who is it going to be? Michigan or Ohio State?? Heat tells me that Wyoming and Michigan are the only two states (in a recent poll) that thinks Michigan will win. Hmmmm those are some serious odds.
I know that I will be here watching the game. It is a toss up for who to cheer for. But I think that I am going to have to go with Michigan, although they beat my Cardinals a couple of weeks ago. All I know is someone is not going to be undefeated anymore. This truly going to be an exciting game!
Heat, Henrique and I will be watching this game and drinking some beer. College football has been exciting this year!! So we will see this afternoon who really is the stronger team.
Get ready...It's Go Time!

GO MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!

No Sleep for the Insomniac

Well I had thought that the I had beatin this insomnia thing but it seems that I haven't. I am up can't sleep and it really sux. I guess it is good that I don't have to work today. Well...I am sitting down and enjoying my morning coffee and writing this post b/c I don't what else to do with the time right now.
I guess I am having a lot of things on my mind lately that might be causing this insomnia. If I could only pinpoint which one thought it is that is keeping me up at night. Oh well...there are worse things in this world.

Reading Jack Kerouac poetry in a coffee shop seems so right to me right now. I am going to get back into the beat authors. I just read "Franny and Zooey" by Salinger and have fallen in love with that book. It is going to be my new book that I read every month. Yes that is right folks it is replacing my beloved "Vurt". I will still read that book again (probably at least 50 more times). I highly recommend everyone out there read "Franny and Zooey." As you can see now the tiredness is affecting my train of thought. I am having a hard time staying on one topic right now. I will leave all of you with a poem right now.

Replied the good buddy:
"So now the bird's asleep
And that air plane gone
Let's all listen deep.

Everybody silent
Includin me
To catch the roar
Of eternity

That's ringin in our ears
Never-endingly.
You hear it Tom, Dick
And Harry Lee?

You hear it Slim
From Old Montan'?
You hear it Big Daddy
And Raggedy Dan?

You know what I mean
When I say eternity?
You heard it in your crib-
Shhh-Infinity."

Thoughts

tsuyu to kie
maboroshi to kie
inazuma no
kage no gotoku ni
mi wa omou beshi

Like dew that vanishes,
like a phantom that disappears,
or the light cast
by a flash of lightining-
so should one think of one's self.
