Happy Birthday Les!!!!

This is in dedication to my best homie...Les!
I know that you feel that 25 is getting up there but it isn't, trust me.
You are only as old as you feel and sure as hell don't look 25.
You can still party with the best of them and show shame upon younger ones.
So I raise my glass to you and say CHEERS LADY!!!!!
Much love to you and to the many birthdays we will be celebrating in the years to come.

The weekend is almost here!

So today was my early day off of work. YEAH! I have the entire weekend off...this is going to be a great weekend.
Gabe will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow, he will be the ripe ole age of 29!
So everyone help me celebrate his special day.
If I wasn't so broke we would be doing something really cool...but that will have to wait until I get paid next Thursday :)
He is fine with that...unlike me he doesn't really get into celebrating his day.
Other than that it has been a long week...thank goodness it is over. The weather here is changing (which means that it is getting colder), but that's ok...its good movie watching weather. So I want to wish everyone out there a great weekend. And seriously wish Gabe a Happy Birthday too.
Love to all my friends

Changes are coming

So I am doing this new blogger beta thing, this means that my page is going to look a little different for a bit. All of my old links are gone and I need to add all of these back in. Sux big time...but I guess it gives me something to do.
Please be patient with me as I experiment and work to make my page fab looking. I have lost my links and this will take a little time for me to recover them. I promise that everything will back to normal soon.

Saturday Football

Well last nite was a blast...I love going out with a good friend. Alas there were no pictures taken...damn it I even had my camera with me!
All I can say is, Jay's had a great dirty martini!!!
So today we wake up and Heat's hubby comes to get us and we go eat a whole lotta wings. Yummy yummy: wings and football.
This is where the football comes in...I decided that I needed to watch some football when I came home after stuffing myself.
I don't usually watch it, but I was really into it today for some reason. I am watching Notre Dame get their ass handed to them by Michigan. Man I just hope maybe they can redeem themselves somehow right now.
I have also been sporting my UVA hat today since they were playing. I used to wear this hat to BSU football games with my marching uniform, people would give me so much grief for it.
Who cares anyway!!!! Alright so this has turned into a slightly stupid and pointless post, but I needed to do something to distract me from the disasterous game that I have been watching.
I hope that everyone is enjoying their saturday and watching their teams play. From a newbie to the football watching arena (I think that I am really starting to like it).
GO UVA BEAT WESTERN MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!!!!

Fort Collins Fun!

So I must say that I am very excited about this evening. I am going to pick up my friend Heat and we are going to go live the night life here in Ft. Fun!
I am excited mostly about the fact that I get to take her to all of these fabulous places and have a great time. Old Town can be very fun on a Friday nite, it can also be very crowded. So we are going to try to get an early start so that we can at least get a parking spot.
This is a monumental event...Heat and I in Ft. Collins on a Friday nite. We have been making G-Town our Friday nite stomping grounds for a while now. Now we come to my town and have a blast.
I know this sounds silly and trivial to most out there....but I am EXCITED!!!!!!!!
I will hopefully be taking pictures...I know I say this a lot and never do. I'm sorry I just never remember for some reason.
I was hoping that it could be a ladies nite with the infamous 3, but miss Les has to work tonight :(
Boooooo...well you know that I will have a martini for you. See if Les lived up here it would be a hell of lot easier...but that's cool. You know I love you!!!!
Anyway back to the evening at hand. See this is a rare thing for me now...I don't usually have Saturdays off anymore so can't usually go out on Fridays. Oh yeah I have the next two Saturdays off...you know I will be going out.
So I might see some of my friends out and about tonight.
Let us all have a fun and safe Friday nite!!!

Delicate Rain Falling

You would think that I am on vacation again. I have just found the joy in posting again. I love just letting the thoughts tumble out of my brain. Whether people enjoy reading them or not makes no never mind to me.
I am just enjoying a nice afternoon after work...the rain has fallen and the clouds are parting. Such a good day to be out there and alive.
This such day makes me think of a poem that I just read:

hahaso hara
shizuku mo iro ya
kawaruramu
mori no shitakusa
aki fukenikeri

Among the great oaks,
even the dewdrops from the leaves
must have changed colors-
for the grasses beneath the trees
show autumn's progress too.

-Lady Kunaikyo (d.1204?)

The changing weather and light crisp air remind me that fall is not that far away. I am enjoying this change in weather and have felt a renewed purpose in life.

It's Five O'Clock Somewhere aka Martini Time

So I was just thinking...whatever happened to Martini Hour? I mean in the 50's this was a big deal...why have we gotten away from it.
People now just go and have as many beers as they can get until the bar closes. Let us get back to the civilized way of drinking.
I don't know what brought this on..perhaps it is the fact that I realized that I enjoy a martini more than a beer (sometimes).
Now to some people out there who have told me before that my life is sad b/c I enjoy a drink or two...screw you!!!
Now that I have that out on the table. I want all of my friends out there to raise their martini glasses high and enjoy. There is nothing wrong with having a martini after work (or for some people more) they used to do it all the time in the 50's.
Vive la Martini!
BTW I did just make myself a fab martini...here is to enjoying life. Be it a Cosmo or a Dirty Martini (my personal fav) enjoy it and trust me you will save money at the bar...you won't need as many of these if your intention is to get drunk..trust me.
Go out with friends..enjoy the weekend..live fab..love to everyone.
