Travel Woes

So as most of you know I am going to be heading to Japan this year. That's right I am going to stop talking about it and actually do it. The only thing is that I didn't realize who long it would take to get my passport. With the new passport law going into effect I am looking at about a 2 month wait possibly more. This super sux. Oh well, I guess that I won't be going in the spring.
ANyway, it that is the only woe I have about this trip than that is pretty damn good. On another I am glad to hear that my friend Les will be joining me. She has re-confirmed with me and I am going to hold her to it.
If anyone out there knows someone who is currently living in Japan let me know. I would love to get a good feel for the area from a resident.

I know, I know

It has been quite some time since I last posted. I have been busy and haven't really had anything to post lately. Same as in the last post, there is snow (lots of snow).
I must say I am quite sick of snow.
I am ready for summer, hot weather, and pools.
But I guess I need to wait a little while for that all to happen.
I hope that everyone out there is having a great Sunday. I am currently watching the Colts get creamed by the Patriots....not a happy day at all. GO COLTS!!!!
Now that I have said that...there isn't much to say.
I have been trying to take it easy mostly which means that I haven't been doing much.
I am sure that I will have more to post as the creative juices start flowing a little more.

So much snow!

Oh my god...that is all I have to say. Winter is so not my fav season, but this is a little crazy. I know I haven't posted in a while. But I am just letting everyone out there know that I am still here and am very much alive.
I will leave you guys with a photo of my car buried in snow. I am going to out and make snow angels now. (Hey gotta make the best of the snow!)

Boy Did I need Coffee this Morning

Not only do I feel like I ate enough for 5 people, but I am also way groggy. I don't have to work thank goodness, but boy did I need that coffee. I hope that everyone out there enjoyed their turkey day...I ate tons of food and watched football all day...it was truly awesome :) So it is the day after and I am sure that I am not the only one suffering from the "turkey hang-over"
So since I am still a little on the sleepy side and kinda outta it, I will close this post with a poem.

Posing a Question

Who out there really feels it is about time that school buses have seatbelts??
The recent events in Alabama should really be sending a message. I have long thought that school buses are unsafe. When I have children I will be driving them to school myself. I know that this isn't possible for many families, but something needs to be done. Children are the future, we in this country should be taking every measure to insure their safety.
I am sorry, seeing those pictures of that school bus made me cry. I have never understood why in the hell there aren't seatbelts in buses. I want to know what everyone out there thinks.
Please leave your comment...perhaps if enough people raise their voices something will change. It is a small battle to fight, but it is still important.

The Big Day

Well here it is the big day! Who is it going to be? Michigan or Ohio State?? Heat tells me that Wyoming and Michigan are the only two states (in a recent poll) that thinks Michigan will win. Hmmmm those are some serious odds.
I know that I will be here watching the game. It is a toss up for who to cheer for. But I think that I am going to have to go with Michigan, although they beat my Cardinals a couple of weeks ago. All I know is someone is not going to be undefeated anymore. This truly going to be an exciting game!
Heat, Henrique and I will be watching this game and drinking some beer. College football has been exciting this year!! So we will see this afternoon who really is the stronger team.
Get ready...It's Go Time!

GO MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!

No Sleep for the Insomniac

Well I had thought that the I had beatin this insomnia thing but it seems that I haven't. I am up can't sleep and it really sux. I guess it is good that I don't have to work today. Well...I am sitting down and enjoying my morning coffee and writing this post b/c I don't what else to do with the time right now.
I guess I am having a lot of things on my mind lately that might be causing this insomnia. If I could only pinpoint which one thought it is that is keeping me up at night. Oh well...there are worse things in this world.

Reading Jack Kerouac poetry in a coffee shop seems so right to me right now. I am going to get back into the beat authors. I just read "Franny and Zooey" by Salinger and have fallen in love with that book. It is going to be my new book that I read every month. Yes that is right folks it is replacing my beloved "Vurt". I will still read that book again (probably at least 50 more times). I highly recommend everyone out there read "Franny and Zooey." As you can see now the tiredness is affecting my train of thought. I am having a hard time staying on one topic right now. I will leave all of you with a poem right now.

Replied the good buddy:
"So now the bird's asleep
And that air plane gone
Let's all listen deep.

Everybody silent
Includin me
To catch the roar
Of eternity

That's ringin in our ears
Never-endingly.
You hear it Tom, Dick
And Harry Lee?

You hear it Slim
From Old Montan'?
You hear it Big Daddy
And Raggedy Dan?

You know what I mean
When I say eternity?
You heard it in your crib-
Shhh-Infinity."

Martinis, Heat, and Me

So it's Friday nite and I had the weirdist I have ever had. So that being said, I have decided that it is time for some martinis.
I text Heat and she is down...so we head on over to the Magnus and have a couple of martinis. We then decide that it is a nite to hang at home and drink martinis together. We stop by the Mardi Gras and pick up some Mango Martini mix.
YUMMY!!!!!!!
We that being said...I am having a much better evening. Tomorrow we will be watching the CSU Wyo game and CSU is going to win.
Well at least I think they will....anyway that is my evening in a nutshell.
Martinis make me feel better and hanging with Heat is always fun.

First Snow of the Year

So I am right now looking out my window at the snow falling. True it is just a wet snow but I am sure that it will start collecting soon.
As a fan of warm weather and sunny skies; the first snow gives me mixed feelings.
While it is beautiful...it is also to fricking cold.
That about sums it up for me.
The one thing I am glad about this year is that I don't have to drive in it to get to work...talk about a great relief.

W Posted Here!

Thats right you heard it hear the President posted on my humble little blog. I didn't think this would ever happen...I don't know what to say. Except for WTF!
Anyway....as it would seem I have got the attention of some high-ups. I mean my blogs are so interesting to read (esp when I talk about the football games I watched.)
GO UVA!!!!!
Anyway I will let you read the post below and you can decide for yourself..is it really the president or someone posing as the president.
Hmmmmm.....well anyway it is quite amusing and I got a good laugh out of it.
I mean really...these are things he might say.

W said...

I was patrolling the Internets looking for terrorists and I found your site. Let me say a couple things:

First of all... there's a saying... it goes... well... um... it's hard work being the president.

I'm fully aware that stuff ain't going well in the world... like I said, it's hard work. It's my job to protect the American people. Ya' hear that? My job. I was hired by an overwhelming 50.1% of the voting public. That's not a majority, that's a mandate.

Sometimes the so-called "Bill'a Rights" makes protecting the good folk of America difficult. People want to give terrorists a trial where we tell them why we've kept 'em imprisoned for years on end and they want to see evidence! That makes less sense than a bull wearing a skirt during a Texas windstorm. Say this feller' ended up at Gitmo because his neighbor tipped us off. Maybe he's an terrorist or maybe his friend just wants his wife... but that's not important... what is important is that we protect our sources. Using evidence would just embolden our enemies. Understand?

People are also telling me... the Decider... that I can't listen to their phone conversations without Warrant. Warrant? I hate that gall'darn band! How can I hear the secret messages encoded in steamy phone sex when I have "Cherry Pie" blaring in my ears. Think people!

After reading your blog, I realize that the First Amendment might be a little overboard too. "Free" speech? Sounds Commie to me. From now on I'm going to let the Market decide the value of speech. Get ready to pay.

So there it is in all its glory ;)
Cory you are brilliant that is all I have to say.

Is there Anyone out there?

I have decided that I must write really boring posts. No one hardly comments anymore. Serioulsy I have tried to be non-offensive, but I am tempted now to just offend someone just so there is some posting action out there.
I am not a deep philosophical person or I would try writing something like that. If you give me an hour and a couple of beers I could be.
True this did start as an online journal...just sometimes you want peoples feedback. Like for instance are there no UVA fans out there??? I mean come on...rally behind me UVA rocks ( even though they lost their last game).
Or how about this...Bush is not a very good president! I just know someone wants to respond to that one.
This is the only time that I will probably ever mention anything political...if you know me, you know my views.
I know that I have very busy friends out there...I totally understand that. But come on...let me know that you guys are out there. Some of you I don't see very often and the only way I know that you are still with the living is if you email me or post on my blog.
Ok so this is turning into one of my famous rambling rants...I am sorry I have just been feeling a little down lately and seriously...I just wanted to know that I still have peeps out there.
Now I don't want some mean spirited post about me being a loser...b/c frankly I know that I am not.
Ever have those days where you feel invisible well that is me today...that would be why I am posting like this.
I am sure that I will go back to my boring posts about what I did this weekend...or my trip this next summer...but just humour me now.
You know maybe it has something to do with the crappy-ass weather today. I have always felt that the weather affects my moods.
Well whether it is the weather outside or just one of those super special days...I am really a little better after posting.

Nonstop Rollercoaster Ride

I have been having a hectic week...the weather has been acting funny and the mornings have been super busy...it was insane last week. Amid all the insanity I was promoted to manager. It was a surprise let me tell you, I was very happy. Then I was thrown right in...I guess that works. SINK OR SWIM!
So that is why I have been away for about a week...this past week was the most hectic I have had since last X-mas.
Speaking of the holidays...everyone who knows and loves Gabe must be extra nice to him this holiday season. He will be working at a bookstore for the holidays (I wish I could say that I pity him, but I don't ;)
So you see him closer to X-mas and he seems grumpy...trust me it's not you.
Anyway..this has been a rather short weekend, I was nice enough to pick up an extra shift today (kinda wish that I hadn't) oh well.
I am hoping that my shift goes by quickly, but the rest of my day goes a little slower.
Hopefully once I settle into my new position it will stop being so hectic. That would be nice...stress and me don't get a long.
Well we shall see how this week coming up goes...I am wishing for the best and also hope that I have my two days off this week.
Since I don't have much more to say...I will leave it at this.
I miss all my friends dearly and want to spend time with each and every one of you.
Steph I am trying to get out for your b-day...I will let you know in the next week if I am going to be able to.

Hooray!!!

I must say that I am quite excited by the fact the Cavaliers finally pull off a sweet win. True it was against Duke and they aren't really known for their football team, but it still makes me happy. I would have loved to watch this game but I wasn't able to find it on t.v. So instead I watched the Purdue Norte Dame game. This was a great game...well it was entertaining. The best was when it started to downpour...I just love watching and playing sports in the rain.
Anyway needless to say the Boilermakers couldn't pull it off...oh well maybe next time guys!
It has been just a great weekend...I was able to watch some football at the bar while Gabe argued with the gentlemen next to him about socialism...that was a very interesting lunch ;)
I had a lovely evening out with Miss Heat...we went to Carinos and stuffed our faces...it was great ;)
YUMMY Peach Bellinis.
Anyway that is all I have to report....hope everyone had a great weekend.
Love to everyone.

Happy Birthday Les!!!!

This is in dedication to my best homie...Les!
I know that you feel that 25 is getting up there but it isn't, trust me.
You are only as old as you feel and sure as hell don't look 25.
You can still party with the best of them and show shame upon younger ones.
So I raise my glass to you and say CHEERS LADY!!!!!
Much love to you and to the many birthdays we will be celebrating in the years to come.

The weekend is almost here!

So today was my early day off of work. YEAH! I have the entire weekend off...this is going to be a great weekend.
Gabe will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow, he will be the ripe ole age of 29!
So everyone help me celebrate his special day.
If I wasn't so broke we would be doing something really cool...but that will have to wait until I get paid next Thursday :)
He is fine with that...unlike me he doesn't really get into celebrating his day.
Other than that it has been a long week...thank goodness it is over. The weather here is changing (which means that it is getting colder), but that's ok...its good movie watching weather. So I want to wish everyone out there a great weekend. And seriously wish Gabe a Happy Birthday too.
Love to all my friends

Changes are coming

So I am doing this new blogger beta thing, this means that my page is going to look a little different for a bit. All of my old links are gone and I need to add all of these back in. Sux big time...but I guess it gives me something to do.
Please be patient with me as I experiment and work to make my page fab looking. I have lost my links and this will take a little time for me to recover them. I promise that everything will back to normal soon.

Saturday Football

Well last nite was a blast...I love going out with a good friend. Alas there were no pictures taken...damn it I even had my camera with me!
All I can say is, Jay's had a great dirty martini!!!
So today we wake up and Heat's hubby comes to get us and we go eat a whole lotta wings. Yummy yummy: wings and football.
This is where the football comes in...I decided that I needed to watch some football when I came home after stuffing myself.
I don't usually watch it, but I was really into it today for some reason. I am watching Notre Dame get their ass handed to them by Michigan. Man I just hope maybe they can redeem themselves somehow right now.
I have also been sporting my UVA hat today since they were playing. I used to wear this hat to BSU football games with my marching uniform, people would give me so much grief for it.
Who cares anyway!!!! Alright so this has turned into a slightly stupid and pointless post, but I needed to do something to distract me from the disasterous game that I have been watching.
I hope that everyone is enjoying their saturday and watching their teams play. From a newbie to the football watching arena (I think that I am really starting to like it).
GO UVA BEAT WESTERN MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!!!!

Fort Collins Fun!

So I must say that I am very excited about this evening. I am going to pick up my friend Heat and we are going to go live the night life here in Ft. Fun!
I am excited mostly about the fact that I get to take her to all of these fabulous places and have a great time. Old Town can be very fun on a Friday nite, it can also be very crowded. So we are going to try to get an early start so that we can at least get a parking spot.
This is a monumental event...Heat and I in Ft. Collins on a Friday nite. We have been making G-Town our Friday nite stomping grounds for a while now. Now we come to my town and have a blast.
I know this sounds silly and trivial to most out there....but I am EXCITED!!!!!!!!
I will hopefully be taking pictures...I know I say this a lot and never do. I'm sorry I just never remember for some reason.
I was hoping that it could be a ladies nite with the infamous 3, but miss Les has to work tonight :(
Boooooo...well you know that I will have a martini for you. See if Les lived up here it would be a hell of lot easier...but that's cool. You know I love you!!!!
Anyway back to the evening at hand. See this is a rare thing for me now...I don't usually have Saturdays off anymore so can't usually go out on Fridays. Oh yeah I have the next two Saturdays off...you know I will be going out.
So I might see some of my friends out and about tonight.
Let us all have a fun and safe Friday nite!!!

Delicate Rain Falling

You would think that I am on vacation again. I have just found the joy in posting again. I love just letting the thoughts tumble out of my brain. Whether people enjoy reading them or not makes no never mind to me.
I am just enjoying a nice afternoon after work...the rain has fallen and the clouds are parting. Such a good day to be out there and alive.
This such day makes me think of a poem that I just read:

hahaso hara
shizuku mo iro ya
kawaruramu
mori no shitakusa
aki fukenikeri

Among the great oaks,
even the dewdrops from the leaves
must have changed colors-
for the grasses beneath the trees
show autumn's progress too.

-Lady Kunaikyo (d.1204?)

The changing weather and light crisp air remind me that fall is not that far away. I am enjoying this change in weather and have felt a renewed purpose in life.
