Martinis, Heat, and Me

So it's Friday nite and I had the weirdist I have ever had. So that being said, I have decided that it is time for some martinis.
I text Heat and she is down...so we head on over to the Magnus and have a couple of martinis. We then decide that it is a nite to hang at home and drink martinis together. We stop by the Mardi Gras and pick up some Mango Martini mix.
YUMMY!!!!!!!
We that being said...I am having a much better evening. Tomorrow we will be watching the CSU Wyo game and CSU is going to win.
Well at least I think they will....anyway that is my evening in a nutshell.
Martinis make me feel better and hanging with Heat is always fun.

First Snow of the Year

So I am right now looking out my window at the snow falling. True it is just a wet snow but I am sure that it will start collecting soon.
As a fan of warm weather and sunny skies; the first snow gives me mixed feelings.
While it is beautiful...it is also to fricking cold.
That about sums it up for me.
The one thing I am glad about this year is that I don't have to drive in it to get to work...talk about a great relief.

W Posted Here!

Thats right you heard it hear the President posted on my humble little blog. I didn't think this would ever happen...I don't know what to say. Except for WTF!
Anyway....as it would seem I have got the attention of some high-ups. I mean my blogs are so interesting to read (esp when I talk about the football games I watched.)
GO UVA!!!!!
Anyway I will let you read the post below and you can decide for yourself..is it really the president or someone posing as the president.
Hmmmmm.....well anyway it is quite amusing and I got a good laugh out of it.
I mean really...these are things he might say.

W said...

I was patrolling the Internets looking for terrorists and I found your site. Let me say a couple things:

First of all... there's a saying... it goes... well... um... it's hard work being the president.

I'm fully aware that stuff ain't going well in the world... like I said, it's hard work. It's my job to protect the American people. Ya' hear that? My job. I was hired by an overwhelming 50.1% of the voting public. That's not a majority, that's a mandate.

Sometimes the so-called "Bill'a Rights" makes protecting the good folk of America difficult. People want to give terrorists a trial where we tell them why we've kept 'em imprisoned for years on end and they want to see evidence! That makes less sense than a bull wearing a skirt during a Texas windstorm. Say this feller' ended up at Gitmo because his neighbor tipped us off. Maybe he's an terrorist or maybe his friend just wants his wife... but that's not important... what is important is that we protect our sources. Using evidence would just embolden our enemies. Understand?

People are also telling me... the Decider... that I can't listen to their phone conversations without Warrant. Warrant? I hate that gall'darn band! How can I hear the secret messages encoded in steamy phone sex when I have "Cherry Pie" blaring in my ears. Think people!

After reading your blog, I realize that the First Amendment might be a little overboard too. "Free" speech? Sounds Commie to me. From now on I'm going to let the Market decide the value of speech. Get ready to pay.

So there it is in all its glory ;)
Cory you are brilliant that is all I have to say.

Is there Anyone out there?

I have decided that I must write really boring posts. No one hardly comments anymore. Serioulsy I have tried to be non-offensive, but I am tempted now to just offend someone just so there is some posting action out there.
I am not a deep philosophical person or I would try writing something like that. If you give me an hour and a couple of beers I could be.
True this did start as an online journal...just sometimes you want peoples feedback. Like for instance are there no UVA fans out there??? I mean come on...rally behind me UVA rocks ( even though they lost their last game).
Or how about this...Bush is not a very good president! I just know someone wants to respond to that one.
This is the only time that I will probably ever mention anything political...if you know me, you know my views.
I know that I have very busy friends out there...I totally understand that. But come on...let me know that you guys are out there. Some of you I don't see very often and the only way I know that you are still with the living is if you email me or post on my blog.
Ok so this is turning into one of my famous rambling rants...I am sorry I have just been feeling a little down lately and seriously...I just wanted to know that I still have peeps out there.
Now I don't want some mean spirited post about me being a loser...b/c frankly I know that I am not.
Ever have those days where you feel invisible well that is me today...that would be why I am posting like this.
I am sure that I will go back to my boring posts about what I did this weekend...or my trip this next summer...but just humour me now.
You know maybe it has something to do with the crappy-ass weather today. I have always felt that the weather affects my moods.
Well whether it is the weather outside or just one of those super special days...I am really a little better after posting.

Nonstop Rollercoaster Ride

I have been having a hectic week...the weather has been acting funny and the mornings have been super busy...it was insane last week. Amid all the insanity I was promoted to manager. It was a surprise let me tell you, I was very happy. Then I was thrown right in...I guess that works. SINK OR SWIM!
So that is why I have been away for about a week...this past week was the most hectic I have had since last X-mas.
Speaking of the holidays...everyone who knows and loves Gabe must be extra nice to him this holiday season. He will be working at a bookstore for the holidays (I wish I could say that I pity him, but I don't ;)
So you see him closer to X-mas and he seems grumpy...trust me it's not you.
Anyway..this has been a rather short weekend, I was nice enough to pick up an extra shift today (kinda wish that I hadn't) oh well.
I am hoping that my shift goes by quickly, but the rest of my day goes a little slower.
Hopefully once I settle into my new position it will stop being so hectic. That would be nice...stress and me don't get a long.
Well we shall see how this week coming up goes...I am wishing for the best and also hope that I have my two days off this week.
Since I don't have much more to say...I will leave it at this.
I miss all my friends dearly and want to spend time with each and every one of you.
Steph I am trying to get out for your b-day...I will let you know in the next week if I am going to be able to.

Hooray!!!

I must say that I am quite excited by the fact the Cavaliers finally pull off a sweet win. True it was against Duke and they aren't really known for their football team, but it still makes me happy. I would have loved to watch this game but I wasn't able to find it on t.v. So instead I watched the Purdue Norte Dame game. This was a great game...well it was entertaining. The best was when it started to downpour...I just love watching and playing sports in the rain.
Anyway needless to say the Boilermakers couldn't pull it off...oh well maybe next time guys!
It has been just a great weekend...I was able to watch some football at the bar while Gabe argued with the gentlemen next to him about socialism...that was a very interesting lunch ;)
I had a lovely evening out with Miss Heat...we went to Carinos and stuffed our faces...it was great ;)
YUMMY Peach Bellinis.
Anyway that is all I have to report....hope everyone had a great weekend.
Love to everyone.

Happy Birthday Les!!!!

This is in dedication to my best homie...Les!
I know that you feel that 25 is getting up there but it isn't, trust me.
You are only as old as you feel and sure as hell don't look 25.
You can still party with the best of them and show shame upon younger ones.
So I raise my glass to you and say CHEERS LADY!!!!!
Much love to you and to the many birthdays we will be celebrating in the years to come.

Friday, September 22

The weekend is almost here!

So today was my early day off of work. YEAH! I have the entire weekend off...this is going to be a great weekend.
Gabe will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow, he will be the ripe ole age of 29!
So everyone help me celebrate his special day.
If I wasn't so broke we would be doing something really cool...but that will have to wait until I get paid next Thursday :)
He is fine with that...unlike me he doesn't really get into celebrating his day.
Other than that it has been a long week...thank goodness it is over. The weather here is changing (which means that it is getting colder), but that's ok...its good movie watching weather. So I want to wish everyone out there a great weekend. And seriously wish Gabe a Happy Birthday too.
Love to all my friends

Changes are coming

So I am doing this new blogger beta thing, this means that my page is going to look a little different for a bit. All of my old links are gone and I need to add all of these back in. Sux big time...but I guess it gives me something to do.
Please be patient with me as I experiment and work to make my page fab looking. I have lost my links and this will take a little time for me to recover them. I promise that everything will back to normal soon.

Saturday Football

Well last nite was a blast...I love going out with a good friend. Alas there were no pictures taken...damn it I even had my camera with me!
All I can say is, Jay's had a great dirty martini!!!
So today we wake up and Heat's hubby comes to get us and we go eat a whole lotta wings. Yummy yummy: wings and football.
This is where the football comes in...I decided that I needed to watch some football when I came home after stuffing myself.
I don't usually watch it, but I was really into it today for some reason. I am watching Notre Dame get their ass handed to them by Michigan. Man I just hope maybe they can redeem themselves somehow right now.
I have also been sporting my UVA hat today since they were playing. I used to wear this hat to BSU football games with my marching uniform, people would give me so much grief for it.
Who cares anyway!!!! Alright so this has turned into a slightly stupid and pointless post, but I needed to do something to distract me from the disasterous game that I have been watching.
I hope that everyone is enjoying their saturday and watching their teams play. From a newbie to the football watching arena (I think that I am really starting to like it).
GO UVA BEAT WESTERN MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!!!!

Fort Collins Fun!

So I must say that I am very excited about this evening. I am going to pick up my friend Heat and we are going to go live the night life here in Ft. Fun!
I am excited mostly about the fact that I get to take her to all of these fabulous places and have a great time. Old Town can be very fun on a Friday nite, it can also be very crowded. So we are going to try to get an early start so that we can at least get a parking spot.
This is a monumental event...Heat and I in Ft. Collins on a Friday nite. We have been making G-Town our Friday nite stomping grounds for a while now. Now we come to my town and have a blast.
I know this sounds silly and trivial to most out there....but I am EXCITED!!!!!!!!
I will hopefully be taking pictures...I know I say this a lot and never do. I'm sorry I just never remember for some reason.
I was hoping that it could be a ladies nite with the infamous 3, but miss Les has to work tonight :(
Boooooo...well you know that I will have a martini for you. See if Les lived up here it would be a hell of lot easier...but that's cool. You know I love you!!!!
Anyway back to the evening at hand. See this is a rare thing for me now...I don't usually have Saturdays off anymore so can't usually go out on Fridays. Oh yeah I have the next two Saturdays off...you know I will be going out.
So I might see some of my friends out and about tonight.
Let us all have a fun and safe Friday nite!!!

Delicate Rain Falling

You would think that I am on vacation again. I have just found the joy in posting again. I love just letting the thoughts tumble out of my brain. Whether people enjoy reading them or not makes no never mind to me.
I am just enjoying a nice afternoon after work...the rain has fallen and the clouds are parting. Such a good day to be out there and alive.
This such day makes me think of a poem that I just read:

hahaso hara
shizuku mo iro ya
kawaruramu
mori no shitakusa
aki fukenikeri

Among the great oaks,
even the dewdrops from the leaves
must have changed colors-
for the grasses beneath the trees
show autumn's progress too.

-Lady Kunaikyo (d.1204?)

The changing weather and light crisp air remind me that fall is not that far away. I am enjoying this change in weather and have felt a renewed purpose in life.

It's Five O'Clock Somewhere aka Martini Time

So I was just thinking...whatever happened to Martini Hour? I mean in the 50's this was a big deal...why have we gotten away from it.
People now just go and have as many beers as they can get until the bar closes. Let us get back to the civilized way of drinking.
I don't know what brought this on..perhaps it is the fact that I realized that I enjoy a martini more than a beer (sometimes).
Now to some people out there who have told me before that my life is sad b/c I enjoy a drink or two...screw you!!!
Now that I have that out on the table. I want all of my friends out there to raise their martini glasses high and enjoy. There is nothing wrong with having a martini after work (or for some people more) they used to do it all the time in the 50's.
Vive la Martini!
BTW I did just make myself a fab martini...here is to enjoying life. Be it a Cosmo or a Dirty Martini (my personal fav) enjoy it and trust me you will save money at the bar...you won't need as many of these if your intention is to get drunk..trust me.
Go out with friends..enjoy the weekend..live fab..love to everyone.

It's Almost Over

My fab vaca is coming to a close...one last afternoon of laying out. Tomorrow I will be heading back to Colorado. I am now wishing that I had given myself an extra day off to recoup...I always forget to do that. Oh well..it won't be that bad, if I am tired I will just make myself some coffee ;) I guess you can't be on vacation forever (although that would be nice!!)
It will be nice to get home though, I have missed Gabe and my friends. I think that there are many things that I will miss about this vacation. This has been the best vacation that I have had in a long time. For example I found a new form of "crack" it is called the History Channel...man I could watch this channel for hours. I might have to break down and get some form of cable just so that I can watch this channel at home. Anway I know that seems really weird, so I will leave it at that.
Well to all my friends I will be seeing you soon. Have missed everyone dearly and can't wait to party with my closest buds.
Peace to everyone out there...love you all.

Fun in the Sun

This has been the best vacation I have had in a long time. I am going to come back to Colorado totally relaxed and with a new outlook on life.
I am loving it out here...the sun, the sun, and oh yeah the sun!
I just like how everything out here in Arizona is a little bit more laid back. Yeah the traffic sux, but doesn't it in every major city.
I have just been taking it easy and tanning and doing a little shopping. I do miss my friends though....I wish that we could all come down here and take a vaca together. Wouldn't that be fun??!! Well I haven't got a whole lot to say. I will be here until Tuesday, so I will see everyone again either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Love you all.

Summer showers

So I arrived in Phoenix yesterday afternoon and man was it hot! It was nice though, I have always liked the weather in Arizona.
But what I didn't realize is that I am here during monsoon season. It was really weird b/c last night we had a really nasty storm. It was super windy and lots of lightening.
We just don't get that in Colorado. It was nice though...the smell of rain has been a fav on mine. Sleeping with the windows open and feeling the nice evening breeze. What a great start to my vacation.
I took some pics of my own as the storm moved across the sky...but since I forgot my cord for my camera they will have to wait until I get home.
It is a little cloudy today and a bit humid, but nothing as close to the humidity in the midwest (thank god!)
I am just talking it easy today and reading and relaxing..I am sure that I will take in some sun as well today ;) I am hoping to enjoy some hiking sometime this week...but we shall see. I miss all of my friends dearly and hope to bring them out here sometime to enjoy this wonderful area. To everyone out there have a great week.

Vaca is fast approaching

I am starting to get excited about my pending vacation. I am not excited about flying but that is such a small part of it. I will spending a little over a week in Arizona. I am going to visit my grandparent, who btw are the coolest people.
I will not be thinking about much of anything, just relaxing and enjoying the nice warm weather.
I have been counting down the days until I leave. This week has been long and I have been training new people all week. I am about ready to drop from exhaustion. Don't get me wrong I love my job I am just tired.
I think the first day that I am there I will just sleep.
I will miss my friends but they know that I have been needing this one for a while.
If you out there haven't been to Arizona do go. It is a great place to be, I have bee wanting to move there for some time now. I just can't convince Gabe that he would like it. Oh well......

damn you reality tv

So i got together with my ladies last night and we were watching a movie from our list. Let me give you a little background about this we have been working on AFI's 100 Most Passionate Films for about 4 years now, and damnit we are going to finish. Anyway so we watching our movie and then we are all hanging out.
There is this show that was about to come on called project runway. Seeing as I don't have cable I have never had the pleasure of watching this show.
Now let me tell you I am a very anti-reality show person, so was a little skeptical about this one.
I have to say I was surprised and very pissed at myself. I didn't ever want to like one of these shows...I have fought it for so long.
Well what's done is done and now I want to watch it again...but on the upside it makes me want to get out my sewing machine and start sewing again. That's a good thing right??
Well I won't hold it against my friends for introducing me to this show. It won't make me want to get cable but now I have another reason to hang out with my ladies.
Anyway that is what is going on in the exiting world of me.
I will be on vacation next week...thank goodness!!!!!
Sunny Arizona here I come..hopefully I will have some great pics to put up.
Ta ta for now

Absence makes the heart grow fonder

So I have missed all of you very much. I have been busy with training newbies at my job. Oh yes that is right I am training people...who would have guessed it. Other than that I have been geeking out over my lastest fav film. Ok all of those who love me forgive this is my inner geek speaking. So if you must know I spent more time playing this game my soph year than studying for class. That is how deep the love goes. I know there are a few of you out there that know what I am talking about. Anyway...I just have a respect for kick ass cg and here it is in all its glory.
Now this isn't all I have been doing..my god I do have a life.
Recently Heat and I went and celebrated Jilly's last day at Scoots..it was sad but it had to happen.
I had fun and was very glad that I had the next day off. I don't know where I am going to go when I come into Greeley (besides the Rio) I am sure that we will figure it out.
For those of you who don't know my long time love (my laptop) decided that it was tired of being used and abused and died on me. Cory is trying to save what was on my hardrive but we will see. It was a great computer and I used the hell outta of it. Now I have a new one which is even better. So we will see how long it takes before I kill this one. Anyone what to place a bet????

Anyway this is my update...hope to see most of you soon.
Esp you Steph..man if I don't get to hang with you soon I don't know what I am going to do...please come hang out in the mtns with me.
Much love to my crew (you know who you are).

MySpace Woes

So I have just discovered that myspace is having some serious issues. I was first informed of this by Steph who asked me to check if here page was still there. Well it wasn't, it said that it had been deleted. Hmmmmm.....very strange.
Well while I was on I went to post a blog and then it told me that my page has been deleted.
Now I understand that they are having a huge increase in usage, but they really need to keep up with the flow of people logging on. I really hope that it is just a glitch and that my page hasn't been deleted. I spent a good amount of time working on it and there were some people that I was only able to contact through myspace.
Well let me tell you this...if my page is gone then I will probably not be going back to myspace.
I loved all the people I met through there and all of the old friends that I was able to get back into contact with.
So now that I have written this, I went back and my page was under maintanace. Well it turns out they are doing work on all the pages and that I need to install Flash 9. Now wouldn't you think something as large as myspace would warn their users that they were going to be doing all of this work.

It is really frustrating to be told my page is gone when it really isn't. Ok now that I have said my piece.
I hope that everyone of you who was using myspace was able to get back on.
I am done with my rant...love each and every one of you.
